About

Suwinder Cooper is an experienced leader in facilitating transformational change in the area of equity, inclusion and intercultural relations. She draws upon her broad-based experience in human relations, cross-cultural counseling, strategic planning, coaching, student empowerment, academic training, equity leadership, team building, professional training in arts, education, business and community relations.
She facilitates understanding between people of diverse cultures and backgrounds to address implicit bias, disproportionality, school discipline, organizational culture, school climate, race and ethnic relations. Her work focuses on a broad range of issues related to social justice, educational equity, socio-emotional learning and wellness.
She develops successful district wide and school wide equity and wellness strategic implementation plans, designs and deliveres customized programs and conducted seminars, retreats, trainings and workshops in a variety of settings across California. She is a certified True Colors Trainer, a certified anti-bias trainer with the Anti-Defamation League, a member of the Center for Leadership in Equity and Research an Equity Partner with the California Association of School Administrators (ACSA).
Suwinder received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Masters in Education in Cross-Cultural Counseling from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She has taught classes in education and counseling psychology at the University of British Columbia and at Vancouver Community College. As an Academic Trainer for University California, Irvine she trained faculty and conducted one to one coaching sessions for teaching assistents.
